Miya Bass is a licensed social worker in the state of New York. She obtained her Master of Social Work (MSW) from CUNY York College. In her clinical practice, she incorporates a culturally sensitive approach and applies techniques from various theoretical orientations including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, and humanistic psychology. In addition to conducting psychological immigration evaluations, Miya is dedicated to community-based change and reducing mental health stigma by improving programmatic implementation of mental wellness programs within urban communities.
Miya has extensive experience working with young adults, adults, and families from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. In her work, she specializes in working with immigrants and the adult psychiatric population and in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal issues for individuals, groups, and families.
